San Bernardino County District Attorney Aggressively Prosecutes DUI Drivers
The San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office has implemented a countywide crackdown on DUI drivers. One of the reasons that they are doing so is due to the expected increase in DUI drug arrests in 2018, coinciding with the the legalization of recreational marijuana. A November 15, 2017 press release from the DA's office announced "Those arrested for DUI in San Bernardino County, especially repeat offenders and those involved in fatal or injury crashes, can expect to face highly trained, specialized prosecutors, funded by a $211,883.00 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS). The grant to the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office will fund a Vertical Prosecution team that will work cases from arrest through conviction and sentencing." Hiring a Good San Bernardino County DUI Lawyer
While each and every DUI arrest in San Bernardino County is unique in its own way, most DUI cases follow a similar pattern once the criminal legal process begins. Defending a DUI case requires multiple court appearances, beginning with the arraignment (the first court appearance), followed by a pre-trial hearing, motion hearings, and, on some occasions, a jury trial. A good San Bernardino County DUI Lawyer understands the rules and laws that will have an impact on your DUI case. It is not recommended that you go to court alone without an attorney. If you are unable to afford to hire a lawyer due to unemployment or extreme financial hardship, ask the Judge to appoint the San Bernardino County Public Defender's Office to represent you. Do not represent yourself in a criminal case. If you can afford to hire your own private criminal defense attorney, it is best to retain a lawyer that specializes in defending DUI cases. DUI defense is a specialized area of criminal law that deals with many complex legal and scientific issues. San Bernardino County DUI Lawyer Robert D.
